Actually I was taught at school that all the popular music we listen to originates from jazz. That is there wouldn't be rock, pop etc without it. So one may say that your influence was crucial!
Since we're talking about stereotypes... Do you have the one that ALL black people can sing and dance very well? I always thought it must be one really hard to live up to if someone happened to be born black but without musical talents.
