I must agree with Mary's order here.
Pride and Prejudice is the perennial favourite, but
Emma introduced me to Jane Austen and I love how she crafted the character of Miss Bates. It's so easy to want to skim over her ramblings, but they reveal sooooo much of the underlying story.
As for Fanny... I must admit that it has been some years since I have read Mansfield Park, and maybe I was in the midst of Elizabeth and Emma worship at the time, but she was such a mousey, insipid creature, a little too virtuous for my taste - I could not like her, nor really care what happened to her.
The only juvenalia I have read is Love and Friendship and I laughed out loud during the entire read. Jane had such a biting wit.
