I'm sure I've seen Alison Steadman somewhere before I ever saw P&P'95, but didn't make any notion of it, so I only know of those I've seen after P&P.
The first appearance I saw her at after P&P, and quite brief at that, was in "Secrets and Lies", which is a wonderful movie - it's a very improvised movie, based on a description of the main characters and a brief storyline. Anyway, A.S. appears in the movie as a woman with a dog coming to take a picture of her with the dog. It's a completely natural scenario, she appears there like any normal person. I had to watch the movie a second time before I noticed her. But it was absolutely marvellous regardless. A strange coincidence in the movie is, that it is starred by the more recent Mrs. Bennet, Brenda Blethyn. She makes a wonderful performance in the movie.
The next time (and so far the last) I saw Alison in, was "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers", which was rather good. She played mr. Sellers' (played by Geoffrey Rush, btw) agent in the beginning of the movie. Another fine movie, that one.
