Christina - Reading breathlessly? Wow, thanks. Then again Wickham does try to have that affect on the ladies.
Sylwia - I guess it was sad, but we all want to just shake D&E anyway. Lizzy should always have listened to Jane and Charlotte. Then again, Darcy grievously hurts one of his champions - Jane.
Fatima - Well, since I am following the events from the book, after the Ball Darcy and Bingley had to leave. Darcy, blind to his own faults, did seem to be worried about the interest of Wickham in Elizabeth. Hmmm...
Laura(tannerwas) - Spooky, well it depends on if you think someone hiding in the woods watching you is spooky. Of course, we know what Darcy knows, but think if you had never read the book and this was the first time you had ever encountered the characters.
RitaSV - "Wickham's odd behavior at the ball."
I don't think she thought it was odd. She realized Wickham couldn't be near Darcy because Darcy had done him wrong (Lizzy's POV). While the militia was invited, Darcy wouldn't say "Wickham can't come" because I'm sure that would bring questions that he didn't want to answer about Georgiana. So, for W to show up just to see her and race off - quite dashing and romantic.
Darcy hasn't given up hope, he has no hope since he decided Jane isn't right for Bingley. He realized he was solving two problems by leaving. (1) get Bingley away because it's not a good match, (2) if D leaves Lizzy alone, he thinks Wickham will leave her alone - because Darcy knows Wickham is dangerous to women.
As always thank you for reading. Cristal
