Thank you, thank you! That was beautiful. I'm in awe!
Well, Darcy is very insecure where Lizzy is concerned. He knows she likes him, he doubts she loves him. And actually I blame Lady Catherine for that. If she only decided to pay Lizzy a visit and ask her if she would promise to never marry Darcy, and then tell Darcy how that selfish girl refused! I think things might go much differently for both of them.
As for Brougham... Since Tina and Gail plan to write the story anew, and we have no idea what adventures they'll create there for their characters, we won't really have Holly and Brougham as a couple in our story. They will interact in a way, but without any love storyline. In the original Brougham offered Holly his carriage for her trip to London, and when she refused he sent his manservant to discretely keep an eye for her, and in our story he did the same, but it doesn't really mean anything, just as Mr. Knightley's taking Jane Fairfax and her aunts in his carriage for a ball meant nothing. The problem with the travelling by post then was that it was quite dangerous. Esp. if the journey was to be a long one, and women had no male guards with them. That's why Lady Catherine insists that Lizzy and Maria Lucas shouldn't go to London alone and suggests they wait and go with her later, and Lizzy assures her that her uncle will send a manservant for them. So what Brougham has done was actually quite natural, although he sent his man without Holly's knowledge. Now, I wonder if that is what you were asking about, lol.
